Danilo Cabaluz was born in Santiago de Chile in 1983. He completed his bachelor‘s degree at the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de Chile with Luis Orlandini and his Master‘s degree and postgraduate studies with Eliot Fisk at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He also studied composition and arrangement with Marco Pereira in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2022).
Danilo Cabaluz is a sought-after concert guitarist in Chile and has already played in the most important concert halls there during his studies. As a soloist, in the prestigious Chilean group Barroco Andino and as a member of the Ensamble de Guitarras de Chile, he has performed in renowned halls and theatres in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, USA, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. He has also performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Chile and Germany.
Numerous CD and radio recordings document his work, including:
Ensamble de Guitarras de Chile (2010), Live recording for the Austrian ORF with the violinist Florian Willeitner (2014), the first CD of the Duo CellAr entitled „La vida breve“, together with the German cellist Julia Willeitner (2015), the solo CD „Ritmos Sudamericanos para Guitarra vol. 1“ (2018), „Paisaje chileno en seis cuerdas“ (2019) and his latest production is „Memorias del Sur“ (2022) together with Chilean accordionist Henry Wilson.
Cabaluz is currently a member of the Mosaiko Guitar Quartet and Duo CellAr.
From 2018 to 2020, he was a lecturer in guitar at the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de Chile. Santiago, Chile.
He currently a lecturer in guitar at the University Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria) and he has an important activity as a concert performer in Chile and Europe.
